John Baez (Mar 16 2022 at 19:29):I could explain how we should interpret it, and so could Owen, but if you've read Brandon Coya's A compositional framework for bond graphs, I can just tell you that this is supposed to be a different artistic style for drawing bond graphs (with actual circuit components, like the capacitor at left in that picture).
