we'll have a separate topic for each talk, but you can post any general questions in this thread

Is this in addition to zoom, or instead of it?

view this post on Zulip Tim Hosgood (Mar 15 2021 at 14:41):

in addition: the Zoom is for registered participants, and the YouTube is for the general public

view this post on Zulip Tim Hosgood (Mar 15 2021 at 14:41):

if you've registered for the workshop then you should be getting an email with Zoom details etc. shortly

It would be nice to know where everyone is from - is there a list of participants with their affiliations?

view this post on Zulip Tim Hosgood (Mar 16 2021 at 18:34):

unfortunately it doesn't seem like we can get such a thing, since we didn't enable registration through Zoom

I'd just like to say thanks. This workshop is really making me happy.

Oh good, now I know I have something to look forward to. Just managed to catch up to a single talk up to now. It's extremely annoying to have so many teaching + admin duties that I know it'll take me many many days before I can actually watch the talks, and may not get to watch any more of them live.

Thanks, Conor :-) It was nice to see you, even if it was just in a little window.
I enjoy your various remarks at the workshop. Some of them, slogans I will have to think a lot about before I can grasp them!

Hi Steve,
that could be nice, to help networking.
I don't know it is reaslly feasible though. We do have a list of 300 registered participants, but not their affiliations. And I don't know if it would be correct to publish it. It would also not be completely faithful, because in practice we are only around 100 participants (150 at the peak so far). Not sure what to do...
Cheers, Joachim.

No problem - it was just a thought (like at a normal conference), if it was easy to do.

Participants could be encouraged to give their affiliation in their Zoom handle.

I am remembering correctly that the map of the history of polynomial functors was going to be uploaded to the website? Is this still happening? I'd be very interested in taking a look at it.

I'm happy to announce that there will be a second workshop in this series! Below is the text of the announcement sent to categories@mta.ca (which you may want to join if you have not yet!)

2022 WORKSHOP ON POLYNOMIAL FUNCTORS

At the Topos Institute and online via Zoom
2022 March 14 – 18 (UTC)

https://topos.site/p-func-workshop/

Participants will learn background material and hear the latest progress on polynomial functors. The main topic is the notion of polynomial functors in locally cartesian closed categories, as employed in logic and type theory (the theme of the 2021 Workshop on Polynomial Functors). However we also include a tutorial and talks on the notion of polynomial functors in the sense of Eilenberg and Mac Lane, hoping to uncover connections between these two notions.

Talks will be recorded for posterity.
