Abstract:
This talk will summarize some aspects of recent work with John Baez and Joe Moeller, which aims to tie together representations of symmetric groups, Schur functors, and lambda rings from the point of view of 2-rigs, which are a categorification of ordinary 'rigs' or rings without negatives. A common theme in this area is the notion of 'plethory'. We sketch how the archetypal plethory of lambda rings arises simply and naturally from the simplest possible '2-plethory', and applying decategorification to it.

Um, a bit more than one hour notice for this talk would have been nice.
Tim's post here is a courtesy but there are several calendars where the talks are posted far in advance.
sorry, there was a bit of a delay in getting the title and abstract from the speaker, so the mailing list email only went out yesterday, and i completely forgot about zulip!
These calendars are a bit hard to find, but here's one:

Or, you can go to researchseminars.org, which has a massive list of seminars, and do a search. For example, searching under "topos" gives the Topos Institute seminars:
https://researchseminars.org/?keywords=topos
You can also do a search under subjects (maybe only if you log in?) and then see all seminars with topic "category theory"... but I can't link to that search.
(also the timetable for this specific colloquium is on the webpage, along with a nice countdown timer to help alleviate time zone based confusion )
