Topic: TAC reprints sources

view this post on Zulip Tom Hirschowitz (Nov 07 2023 at 15:45):

Does anyone know whether sources of TAC reprints are available? I'm asking because the TAC reprints I regularly read don't have hyperrefs, so the “previews” featured in some recent pdf viewers are useless.

It looks like you'll need to contact the folks at TAC for those: some have .dvi and .ps as well as .pdf, but I don't see any LaTeX.

May I ask which recent PDF viewers you're talking about? I wanted a preview feature for numbered references for a long time ...

Recently I discovered that on Linux, Evince has this feature, but is missing some other features that Okular has, like filtering the preview bar via full text search.

@Jonas Frey yeah none is perfect, but I was indeed thinking about evince. Btw, mine doesn't even have history navigation working properly, no idea if it's just me :/

Navigation history works on evince for me.
I have tried at some point Sioyek which does preview even when there is no hyperref. It is not perfect (it worked all the time for citations and equations, but less so for sections/lemmas/theorems), but it might help.

I am constantly forgetting the key command to go back through the navigation history in Evince; it's something very unusual. Alt+P maybe?

view this post on Zulip Tom Hirschowitz (Nov 08 2023 at 09:55):

Yes @Mike Shulman, it's Alt+P, or alternatively Alt+←.
@Ralph Sarkis I didn't know about Sioyek, it looks very nice, thanks!

And re evince, I should definitely upgrade my system before talking...

Alt+← is what I would have expected, but it doesn't work for me.

Ok, weird. On my version, the manual says both do the same thing, but none works.
